| 9-0 Tigers Win over Chargers Evens Season Record | The Tioga Central Tigers downed the Topeka West Chargers, 9-0, at Alleycats Ballpark. The Tigers were led by Zach Sharp, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Billy Tichenor picked up the win, improving his season record to 2-2. He struck out 3 in 5.1 innings. Jonathan D'Amore was called on to finish, recording his 1st save.
The Tigers got a big at-bat from center fielder David Andrews. For the game, Andrews was 2-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 5 RBI. In the bottom of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 3rd double of the season gave Tioga Central a 3-0 lead.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Sharp told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
