| Lions Drop Mustangs with Late Score | Downsview catcher Justin Papile had a good game, even if his team did not. The Mustangs dropped a 7-6 decision to Lerna at Visigoths Stadium. Papile was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Getting the save was Allen Belote, his 5th. The Lions are now 13-13, while the Mustangs fall to 14-12.
Cesar Padilla's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With no one out, he rapped a cutter from Bobby Spurlock for a 2-run home run. It put Lerna in front, 7-6.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Padilla told the Lerna Daily News.
