| Extra-Inning Win by Tornadoes over Republic | The Kansas City Tornadoes overcame a good performance by So Cal first baseman Justin Nichols to knock off So Cal, 6-4, at House of the Republic. Nichols was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Nate Miller in relief. His record improves to 4-1. George Fortin took the loss. The Tornadoes own a robust 52-28 mark.
The Tornadoes got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Jake Sandlin. For the game, Sandlin was 1-1 with a double. In the top of the tenth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Kansas City a 5-4 lead.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Sandlin. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
