A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the first inning when the Panthers sent teenager Jeff Diebold to the plate against Panthers hurler Nate McClure. With runners on 1st and 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a single off a 0-1 changeup to score 1.
