| Blazers Stun G.o.D., 4-3 | The Blazers grabbed a win, 4-3, at Isle of Destiny, overcoming a fine effort from Tonga pitcher Toa Fotu Taurus. Taurus went 5.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Bloomington reliever Jesse Huckins was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Robinson Merrado took the loss for Tonga. Shichiro Iba notched his 5th save in 6 chances.
Had Roger Barrett not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Barrett hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Blazers.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Barrett. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The Blazers bumped their record to 40-37 with this latest triumph.
