| Roberts Helps Patriots Run Win Streak to 5 | With designated hitter Kevin Roberts leading the charge, the George Washington Patriots defeated the Pleasantville Panthers, 8-4, at Osprey Ballpark. Roberts went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. Frank Figueroa, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save. Pleasantville's current losing streak has reached 9 games.
Roberts had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-0 splitter from Hideo Nomo Jr., he banged a grand slam home run to right, giving the Patriots a 5-1 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Roberts.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said George Washington manager Frank Robles.
