| Panthers Slip Past Riverside, 4-3 | Derby right-hander Brad Fisher pitched his team to victory over the Riverside Poly at Managua HS Grounds. The final score was 4-3. Fisher got the win, improving to 1-1. He allowed 8 hits and walked 3 over 8 innings. Fisher allowed 3 earned runs. The Panthers bumped their record to 8-8 with this latest triumph.
Had Bret Kedzior not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Kedzior hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Panthers.
In comments to the Derby Observer, Kedzior admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
