Bell Lifts Cardinals to 11-5 Win
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Ed Bell, the Montreal Cardinals defeated the Derby Panthers, 11-5. Bell went 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 6 for the Cardinals. Elias Lozano picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Mike Wadleigh was tagged with the loss. Even with the win, the Cardinals have a dismal 3-12 record.

Bell had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 2-2 sinker from Mike Wadleigh, he banged a bases-clearing double to center, giving the Cardinals a 7-5 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Bell.

"I felt good up there," said Bell. "I saw the ball well."
