| Lions Win at Tenafly, 8-1 | The Tenafly Tigers and Lerna Lions were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Ballpark of León HS.
Justin Deisher helped his team muscle past the Tenafly Tigers, 8-1. In the game, the Lerna right fielder was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. James Wheaton sewed up the save, his 1st.
The Lions got a big at-bat from designated hitter Mark McGwire Jr.. For the game, McGwire Jr. went 1 for 5, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 19th hit of the season gave Lerna a 2-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," McGwire Jr. said.
The Lions bumped their record to 8-7 with this latest triumph.
