| Maddux Jr. hits 2 home runs as Titans Squeeze Past Riverside | The Carl Albert Titans eked out a 6-5 win versus the Riverside Poly at Apollos Ballpark. Nobody did more than center fielder Greg Maddux Jr., who captured player of the game honors. Felix Ruiz picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 5 earned runs on 7 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 6. On the season, he is now 2-0. The Titans bumped their record to 10-5 with this latest triumph.
In the top of the 6th, second baseman Jayden Estelle gave Carl Albert the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Titans had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out single off Riverside pitcher Andy Kois changed that -- and Carl Albert went on to win.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Estelle said.
