| Hornets Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus Kearny High | The Enterprise Hornets downed the Kearny High Cardinals, 7-4, at Loggers Ballpark. The Hornets were led by Ted Bernabei, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Corey Willis got the win, improving to 2-1. He pitched 7.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 12 and walking 5. Yo Zhào finished to wrap up his 1st save.
Bernabei had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 1-0 slider from Sean Picard, he banged a 2-run double to right-center, giving the Hornets a 5-3 lead. It was the 1st double of the year for Bernabei.
"The vibe's good," said Enterprise manager Yassin Flament. "We've got to keep it going."
Every game is important, even these early ones, if the Hornets hope to make a postseason run.
