| Lofton Jr. Hits 2 home runs in Cardinals Win | A 4-RBI performance from first baseman Kenny Lofton Jr., who is considered the best prospect in baseball by BNN, led the Kearny High Cardinals to a 5-4 win over the Grand Island Islanders. Silas Lawson closed the door for Kearny High, picking up his 5th save of the year. Kearny High, now 9-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.
Jon Giampietro had a nice at-bat for the Cardinals with no one out in the top of the ninth. With a runner on 1st, the right fielder reached on an error by the 1B, which would prove important in the Kearny High win.
"Big team win," Giampietro said later.
