Mustangs Win Hitfest, 12-10

The San Marin Mustangs defeated the Riverside Poly, 12-10, in Hank Aaron League action at Apollos Ballpark, with San Marin designated hitter Jian-zhang Gai named player of the game. The winner was San Marin reliever Bill Hillyer, now 1-0. The loser was Jose Mendoza. Howie Scott earned the save for San Marin, his 3rd of the year.

Chad Johnson aided the San Marin cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the catcher went 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said San Marin skipper Marcus Piscitelli.

The Poly fall to 5-5 and continue their uneasy start to the 2038 season.
