| Patriots Lose, 9-6, at Alleycats Ballpark | Francis Lewis left fielder Jay Swetnam had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Swetnam was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2, even as Tioga Central beat the Patriots, 9-6. Swetnam was named the player of the game despite the loss. The win leaves Tioga Central with a record of 4-5.
Had Chris Nelson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Nelson hit a grand slam. That made the score 9-6, in favor of the Tigers.
"We maximized our offense today," said Tioga Central skipper Gabriel McKinnes. "That makes everyone's life easier."
