Downsview beat Canby at Visigoths Stadium, eking out a 6-5 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Alan Weston, who earned player of the game honors. Weston, now 1-1, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 10, walking 2, and allowing 3 earned runs. Josh Creevy closed it out for his 3rd save.

The Mustangs got a big at-bat from shortstop Justin Papile. For the game, Papile was 1 for 4. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 5th hit of the season gave Downsview a 3-2 lead.

"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Weston.

The loss drops Canby to 3-6.
