| Tigers Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start | The Tioga Central Tigers defeated the Downsview Mustangs, 6-4, in Pete Rose League action at Visigoths Stadium, with Tioga Central designated hitter Zach Sharp named player of the game. The winner was Billy Tichenor, who threw 107 pitches over 8 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits. Ian Pfeiffer closed the game out for Tioga Central, earning his 1st save.
Sharp had a key at-bat for Tioga Central early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 1st home run of the season and gave Tioga Central an early 3-0 lead.
"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Sharp told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
Tioga Central is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 3rd in 8 games.
