| Poly Turn Back Grand Island, 4-2 | The Grand Island Islanders got a sterling performance from pitcher Jeremy Yablonski, but the Poly still prevailed, 4-2. Yablonski was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 7 innings allowing 4 runs. Riverside starter Jason Hochmuth was credited with the win after throwing 105 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. The Poly have stumbled out of the gate, getting only their 2nd win in 6 games.
With one out in the top of the fourth, Bill Groves stroked a go-ahead 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put Riverside in front, 2-1.
