Mustangs Lose, 9-6, at Guadalajara HS Grounds

The Billings West Golden Bears picked up a win at Guadalajara HS Grounds, knocking off the Downsview Mustangs, 9-6. Starting pitcher Spencer Dann, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. The save was Greg Rose's, his 2nd. Billings West, now 3-2, has gotten their season off to a good start.

The Golden Bears got a big at-bat from first baseman Ozzie Smith Jr.. For the game, Smith Jr. was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Billings West a 3-0 lead.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Brian Neyman said.
