Cardinals Walk It Off for 3rd Win of Season

The Kearny High Cardinals downed the Norwich Navigators, 10-9, at Loggers Ballpark. The Cardinals were led by Bryan Miller, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 3 with 3 singles and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times. Silas Lawson got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1 innings. The loss drops Norwich to 2-3.

Jon Giampietro was the walk-off hero for Kearny High. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cardinals right fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Giampietro. "And not try to do too much."
