| Monarchs Stymie Victoria, Take 3-1 Win | The London Monarchs defeated the Victoria Capitals, 3-1, in CANADIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE action at Hatchets Ballpark, with London pitcher Victor Correa named player of the game. Victor Perez converted his 10th save in 12 tries. The Monarchs bumped their record to 30-26 with this latest triumph.
The Monarchs got a big at-bat from right fielder Bill Wolochow. For the game, Wolochow went 1 for 5. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 39th hit of the season gave London a 2-1 lead.
Correa said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
