| Multi-HR Day for Rowe as Stars Overpower Monarchs, 14-6 | The Niagara Stars beat the London Monarchs, 14-6, at Drummondville College Grounds. The Stars got a fine performance from center fielder Darrell Rowe, who captured player of the game honors. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4. The win was credited to Timothy Anthony in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Norris Burton took the loss. With the win, Niagara goes to 24-30, while the Monarchs fall to 29-25.
Niagara took a 8-6 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, right fielder Barry Hargrove hit a grand slam home run that set the crowd abuzz.
"Glad to get this win," said Hargrove. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
