| Late Rally by Royales Secures Win | The Montreal Royales beat the Kelowna Heat, 9-7, at Brantford College Grounds. Montreal catcher Shannon Weaver earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Reagan Juneau earned the save for Montreal, his 6th of the year. The Royales, now 17-24, know that wins in June count the same as wins in September.
The Royales got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Mike Hickman. For the game, Hickman went 1-1 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Montreal a 8-7 lead.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Kamatari Inoue.
