| Capitals Win at London, 11-6 | Getting a good performance from designated hitter Dan Tenaglia, the Victoria Capitals defeated the London Monarchs, 11-6. Tenaglia was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Capitals. Jim Mullins got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 2. The Capitals now have a mark of 15-18.
Rudolf Owry drove in one run for Victoria. The 19-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Norris Burton. It was his 18th RBI of the season.
"We got the victory," said Owry. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
