| Stars Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras | The Montreal Royales got a superb performance from pitcher Johnny Winsor. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Niagara. The Stars won the game, 4-2. In spite of the loss, Winsor was named the player of the game. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. Chance Fisher was credited with the save for Niagara, his 7th of the season. The third-place Stars now have a 5-game winning streak.
The Stars got a big at-bat from catcher Max Wyman. For the game, Wyman went 1 for 5. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the 11th, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 24th hit of the season gave Niagara a 4-2 lead.
"Games like this one keep the antacid makers in business," quipped Montreal manager Kamatari Inoue.
