| Capitals Edge Past Stars, 3-2 | The Niagara Stars got a superb performance from pitcher Matt Cassidy, but the Victoria Capitals still won the game, 3-2. Cassidy was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 1-hit ball. Roy Dodd finished the game for Victoria and earned his 8th save. Victoria goes to 12-15, Niagara to 11-16.
The Capitals got a big at-bat from second baseman Gordon McLean. For the game, McLean went 1-4. In the bottom of the eighth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 20th hit of the season gave Victoria a 3-2 lead.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," McLean told the Victoria Today.
