| Trois-Rivieres Wins 2-1 to Continue Red Hot Start | Doug Umlah never let Victoria get something going. The Trois-Rivieres right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Saints to a 2-1 win. In 6 innings, Umlah surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. He allowed 1 run. Bill Whimster earned the save for Trois-Rivieres, his 4th of the year.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out in the top of the eighth inning. That's when catcher Nate Tessier, who is tied for 8th in the LBL in bases on balls with 16, drew a walk. The Saints went on to win.
"I had pretty good command out there," said Umlah.
Trois-Rivieres is now 16-5, 5 games up in the Lester B. Person League East Division.
