| Extra-Inning Win by Heat over Capitals | Victoria got a terrific performance from catcher Josh Pryor, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kelowna Heat. Kelowna won the Ballpark of Chilliwack College contest, 9-8. Pryor was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. The Heat bumped their record to 11-9 with this latest triumph.
The Heat got a big at-bat from right fielder Terry Blumberg. For the game, Blumberg was 4-6 with 2 doubles, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times. In the top of the 12th, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 9th double of the season gave Kelowna a 9-8 lead.
"Guys always talk about winning games because of the 'little things,'" Blumberg told the Kelowna Citizen. "Call me old fashioned, but I think baseball is about the big things -- like scoring more runs."
