| Hanna Helps London Outscore Kelowna | The London Monarchs downed the Kelowna Heat, 12-10, at Hatchets Ballpark. The Monarchs were led by Tim Hanna, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 5. London reliever Broderick Staitie was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Walt Vidito took the loss. Victor Perez recorded the save for London, his 4th of the season.
Hanna had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch sinker from Walt Vidito, he banged a grand slam home run to left-center, giving the Monarchs a 12-10 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Hanna.
"It was a nice win for our side today," said Monarchs manager Frank Smith. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
The Monarchs bumped their record to 11-8 with this latest triumph.
