| Heat Win at Victoria, 7-6 | The Kelowna Heat scored a 7-6 win versus the Victoria Capitals at Ballpark of Chilliwack College. Kelowna first baseman Nate Oncale nabbed top player honors in the tight contest. Kelowna reliever Cesar Flores picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Chris Feldman absorbed the loss. Dave Bruce finished the game for Kelowna and earned his 5th save.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the top of the sixth inning. That's when third baseman Don Bedford, who is the 6th-best prospect in the Heat organization, hit a single. The Heat went on to win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bedford said.
Kelowna, now 8-3, has gotten their season off to a good start.
