Capitals Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start

Ed Wills never let Niagara get something going. The Victoria right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Capitals to a 3-0 win. The winning pitcher was Wills, now 1-0. He tossed 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 4. Roy Dodd finished the game for Victoria and earned his 1st save.

Josh Pryor aided the Victoria cause with a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 3 with a walk.

"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Victoria skipper Dominique Maze.

The defending champion Capitals are off to a horrible start to the season, notching only their 1st win in 6 games.
