| Outlaws Get Win, Hope to Turn Around Slow Start | The Calgary Outlaws topped the Victoria Capitals by the score of 8-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Andy Bailey. Bailey was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Outlaws on the day. Wallace Hynes, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held the Capitals to 3 earned runs on 2 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. Vic Nixon got credit for the save for Calgary. It was his 1st of the year.
The Outlaws got a big at-bat from center fielder Dan Johnson. For the game, Johnson went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run single. His 2nd hit of the season gave Calgary a 2-0 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Bailey said.
Calgary, now 2-3, is off to a slow start.
