| Saints Continue Hot Streak with Extra-Inning Win | The Trois-Rivieres Saints defeated the Kelowna Heat, 9-7, in CANADIAN BASEBALL LEAGUE action at Brantford College Grounds, with Trois-Rivieres right fielder Jérôme Petit named player of the game. Trois-Rivieres reliever Bill Whimster picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Nate Dupuy absorbed the loss. At 4-0, the Saints have played well so far.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Pete Dill came to bat in the top of the 11th. Facing Kelowna pitcher Nate Dupuy, he hit a 1-0 sinker for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Trois-Rivieres on top, 8-7.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Ira Wood said.
