| Stars Stymie Calgary, Take 8-1 Win | Fans of the Niagara Stars who packed the stands for the home opener were rewarded with a Niagara win over the visiting Calgary Outlaws, 8-1. Seth McBrayer started for the home team against Juan Luna. Darby Pulsifer earned the coveted player of the game honors. Niagara reliever Art Seals picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Juan Luna shouldered the loss. Timothy Anthony recorded the save for Niagara, his 1st of the season.
Matt Roberts aided the Niagara cause with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
Said losing manager Kiminobu Kamida: "Give the Stars credit. They took advantage of our mistakes."
