Golden Bears Fall to .500 After Loss to Tigers

The LSU Tigers went home winners at South Paris College Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Ernie Cook. Cook silenced the California Golden Bears, enabling LSU to grab the 4-0 win. Cook, the winner, moves to 4-3. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 10 and giving up 1 walk. California has now lost 4 in a row.

Brendan Grimes aided the LSU cause with a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the catcher went 1-3 with a home run and a walk.

"It was just a matter of executing," said LSU manager Vicente Otero.
