| Pioneers Turn Back Midland, 5-3 | Vancouver played host to Midland at the friendly confines of "The Fort" at B.C. Place.
Vancouver pitcher Travis Panhorst did his part in helping his team beat the Midland Rockhounds, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. In 7 innings, Panhorst surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 1. He allowed 3 runs.
Rob Muniz aided the Vancouver cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the second baseman was 1 for 4.
"We played hard and won," said Panhorst. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
With the win, Vancouver goes to 28-46, while the Rockhounds fall to 33-41.
