| Walk-Off Seals 24th Victory for Hurricanes | Florida left fielder Joey Eaton had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Eaton was 3-3 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, even as Miami beat the Gators, 4-3. Eaton was named the player of the game despite the loss. The Hurricanes bumped their record to 24-21 with this latest triumph.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Miami shortstop Andy Lawson, facing Justin Barnett, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Hurricanes the 4-3 win.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Miami skipper Orlando Durango. "I can't complain."
