The Kansas Jayhawks defeated the North Carolina Tar Heels, 9-5, at Brutes Ballpark today. Leading the charge for Kansas was designated hitter Kenny Zuercher. He was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Josh Erhardt earned the save, his 9th, for the Jayhawks.
Early in the game, shortstop Eric Main had a 3-run home run for Kansas. It was his 25th home run of the season and put the Jayhawks on top, 4-2.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Zuercher said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The Jayhawks bumped their record to 22-22 with this latest triumph.
