| Gamecocks Topple Cowboys with Late Rally | The Gamecocks grabbed a win, 3-0, at Scandals Ballpark, overcoming a fine effort from Oklahoma State pitcher Greg Hughes. Hughes went 5.1 innings and allowed no earned runs. South Carolina reliever Brian Sherman picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-3. Bobby Houston was collared with the loss. South Carolina is now riding a 3-game win streak.
South Carolina took a 2-0 lead on Jim Jorgenson's 4th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Oklahoma State pitcher Bobby Houston in the bottom of the eighth.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Jorgenson. "And not try to do too much."
