Bruins Come Up Short at USC
The USC Trojans faced a tough opponent in UCLA pitcher Steve Tomasello, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Nesquehoning College Fields by a final score of 5-4. Tomasello went 6 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Cory Roberts finished the game for USC and earned his 6th save. The 18th-place Trojans improved to 19-23.

USC took a 5-4 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, center fielder Mike Froster hit a 2-run home run that set the crowd abuzz.
