| Commodores Raise Rally Flag, Beat Indiana State, 3-2 | The inspired effort of Indiana State center fielder Eddie Fauls was not enough to prevent a 3-2 loss to the Vanderbilt Commodores. Fauls went 1-2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Vanderbilt is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Had Jonathan Baldwin not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Baldwin hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Commodores.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Baldwin said.
