| Cyclones Squelch Jayhawks Offense in Shutout Win | The Iowa State Cyclones got a stellar performance from pitcher Jonathan Wimpee, who handcuffed the Kansas offense en route to a 3-0 win at Forney College Grounds. Chris Schmidt sewed up the save, his 7th. Iowa State is now 15-26, Kansas 20-21.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from third baseman Mike Trawick. For the game, Trawick was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Iowa State a 2-0 lead.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Trawick told the Iowa State Chronicle.
