| Multi-HR Game for Gainey in 7-5 Win | Ole Miss and Texas duked it out at Ballpark of Celebration College and the Rebels came out victorious.
Ole Miss first baseman Chase Gainey made his presence felt in the 7-5 Rebels triumph over the Texas Longhorns. Gainey hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2. Ole Miss has now won 4 games in a row.
The Rebels got a big at-bat from designated hitter David Derrick. For the game, Derrick went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the sixth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 17th hit of the season gave Ole Miss a 4-3 lead.
Derrick expressed little emotion after the game. "Every game we win now," he said, "is one less win we'll need to get in the end."
