| Wildcats Lose to Owls in Walk Off | The Rice Owls walked off with a big win today at Toughkenamon College Fields.
The Rice Owls turned back the Arizona Wildcats, 7-6, at Toughkenamon College Fields. Bobby Chancellor was named player of the game for his fine performance. He went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The winner was Daniel Cashier in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Omari Woods took the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Rice designated hitter Jamie Robinson, facing Omari Woods, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Owls the 7-6 win.
In comments to the Rice Observer, Chancellor admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
Rice has now won 3 straight, while the Wildcats have lost 3 in a row.
