| 6-5 Earthquakes Win over Armada Evens Season Record | Jesús Velásquez left his imprint on the 6-5 San Francisco win against the Quebec Armada. Velásquez, who is a three-time All-Star, went 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. San Francisco reliever An-te-hai Xin picked up the win, upping his record to 7-1. A.J. Porter absorbed the loss. The Earthquakes bumped their record to 36-36 with this latest triumph.
Velásquez contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for San Francisco in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 3-2, Velásquez took a knuckle curve from A.J. Porter and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Earthquakes to leap in front, 6-3.
Velásquez told a San Francisco Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
