| Cavaliers Win at Miami, 3-2 | The Virginia Cavaliers got a stellar performance from pitcher Brad Derringer, who handcuffed the Miami offense en route to a 3-2 win at Gremlins Ballpark. Derringer, now 3-1, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing no earned runs. Jonathan Parker recorded his 4th save for Virginia.
Nick Allen swatted a solo home run for Virginia in the top of the fourth. The designated hitter went 2 for 3 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and batted in 1.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Allen said after the game.
