| Razorbacks Top Salukis in Extras | The Arkansas Razorbacks reigned over the South Illinois Salukis in damp conditions at Field of the Shield.
The South Illinois Salukis got a superb performance from left fielder Elijah Samuels. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Arkansas. The Razorbacks won the game, 10-7. In spite of the loss, Samuels was named the player of the game. He went 2-7 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 6. The Razorbacks have an impressive 25-12 record.
The Razorbacks got a big at-bat from center fielder Jonathan Roper. For the game, Roper was 1-2 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the top of the 14th, with the bases loaded, he stroked a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season gave Arkansas a 9-7 lead.
"We came out aggressive," said Razorbacks manager Craig Fletcher. "We came out swinging the bats."
