| Bruins Bridle Golden Bears, 3-1 | Steve Tomasello never let the Golden Bears get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his fastball, to pitch the Bruins to a 3-1 win. The winning pitcher was Tomasello, now 1-1. He tossed 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 10. Bob Bradley earned the save, his 10th.
Ken Stuckless helped out the UCLA cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the shortstop went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"We take it day by day here," said Stuckless, "and today was a good one for us."
The Bruins bumped their record to 19-18 with this latest triumph.
