| Hurricanes Top Cyclones in Extras | Benefiting from Dusty Chandler's productive game, the Miami Hurricanes downed the Iowa State Cyclones, 7-5. Chandler hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Hurricanes. Jesse Jensen sewed up the save, his 11th. The Hurricanes bumped their record to 19-18 with this latest triumph.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Jaden Calhoun came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing Iowa State pitcher Jason LeDuc, he hit a full count fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Miami on top, 7-5.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Calhoun.
