| Late Rally by Cardinals Secures Win | The Cardinals faced a stiff challenge from TCU pitcher Dave Brooks, but persevered to claim a win at Surfers Ballpark. The final score was 5-4. Brooks went 5 innings and allowed no earned runs. Stanford reliever Billy Taylor was the winner. His record is now 3-2. Kyle Marlow took the loss. With the win over TCU, the Cardinals improved to 15-22.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Stanford left fielder Mike Neill, facing Ray Torrence, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Cardinals the 5-4 win.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Neill.
