| Golden Eagles Jolt Aggies with Late Rally | Getting an impressive start from Alex Sutton, South Mississippi beat Texas A&M by the score of 3-1. The win was Brett Lucido's in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Lee Caldwell took the loss for Texas A&M. Andrew Benton picked up the save, his 13th.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Nate Taylor hit a single. The Golden Eagles went on to win.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Sutton said.
The Golden Eagles bumped their record to 21-15 with this latest triumph.
